🔒 LOCK HANDS & FACIAL EXPRESSIONS WITH A SIMPLE SETUP

Hands and Face Lock is a Unity tool for VRChat that automatically creates controls to lock your avatar's hand movements and facial expressions.

You can create only the Hand Lock, only the Face Lock, or both at the same time.

The tool handles the required setup for you, including Expression Menu controls, submenu organization, menu overflow detection, avatar diagnostics, Animator Controller diagnostics, and the installation of ready-to-use controllers when your avatar is missing the required setup.

Instead of manually creating parameters, menus, controllers, and lock systems, you can configure everything directly from one tool.

I've been developing tools for the VRChat community for a long time, and I plan to keep expanding this tool with more features over time.

🧠 SMART EXPRESSION MENU MANAGEMENT

VRChat Expression Menus have limited space, and adding new controls to an already crowded menu can quickly become a problem.

Hands and Face Lock automatically checks the selected menu before adding anything.

If you want to create one or two lock toggles but the menu does not have enough available space, the tool detects the problem and warns you.

You can then automatically place the new controls inside a submenu instead.

This allows you to keep your Expressions Menu organized without manually rebuilding your menu structure every time you run out of space.

🛠️ AUTOMATIC AVATAR & CONTROLLER DIAGNOSTICS

Before creating the lock system, Hands and Face Lock automatically checks the avatar and its Animator Controllers for problems that could prevent the system from working correctly.

The tool can detect errors in the avatar setup as well as problems or missing requirements inside the avatar's controllers.

If your avatar does not have the controllers required by the lock system, Hands and Face Lock includes ready-to-use controllers that can be used instead.

This makes the tool usable even on avatars that do not already have the necessary controller setup.

💡 WHEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS TOOL?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Hands and Face Lock is useful when you want to temporarily prevent your avatar's hands or facial expressions from reacting without having to manually modify your avatar's Animator Controllers every time.

For example:

You may want your avatar to keep a specific hand state while using props, taking photos, performing animations, recording videos, or using systems that should not be interrupted by hand gestures.

You may also want to temporarily prevent facial expressions from changing while using a specific animation, pose, camera setup, or avatar feature.

With Hands and Face Lock, you can add dedicated controls directly to your Expressions Menu and enable or disable them whenever you need them.

The basic workflow is:

1. Select your avatar

2. Choose Hand Lock, Face Lock, or both

3. Select where the controls should be created

4. Let the tool check the avatar, controllers, and available menu space

5. Create the system

If the selected menu does not have enough space, the tool can redirect the controls into a submenu instead.

If the required controllers are missing, the included controllers can be used to complete the setup.

The result is a ready-to-use lock system integrated into your avatar's Expressions Menu.
