商品説明

Bone Picker is a Unity editor extension that shows the bones that move a mesh as dots in the Scene view, so you can find and select bones without digging through a long Armature. Select an avatar or a mesh such as an outfit or hair, and each bone with weights on that mesh gets a green dot. Hover a dot to see the bone name; far dots are drawn smaller and fainter so you can tell front from back. PhysBones (orange) and PhysBone Colliders (light blue) can be shown too; their dots are drawn at the Root Transform, and in the Full version clicking one selects the object the component is on. The window can switch between English and Japanese.

No avatar models are included (tool only).

Free vs Full

  • Free trial: see the dots and bone names.
  • Full: click a dot to select that bone (same as clicking it in the Hierarchy; Ctrl+click adds or removes), select bones, PhysBones and Colliders from the list, and turn on weight colors to see where the selected or hovered bone moves the mesh (blue = a little, yellow, red = fully; parts hidden under clothes are shown faintly).

Importing the Full version over the Free trial replaces it.

Tested before release

Made by Kotokoto Lab, an independent creator. Tested on 3 free avatars (142, 283 and 171 bones with weights): every bone with weights gets a dot and bones without weights do not; clicking the left hand's dot from the front or the side selects a bone on the left side. The avatar's values, the scene and prefabs stay unchanged, and your own Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y keep working after using the tool. Weight colors line up with the mesh even when the avatar is scaled up or stretched sideways. Clicking dots with a real mouse was checked in the Unity editor.

Notes

If the body and the outfit each have their own bones (merged by Modular Avatar), the same bone name can appear more than once; the list shows which object each bone belongs to. Objects with picking disabled are not selected. A drag that starts on a dot (within 10 pixels) does not start a box selection; start box selections away from the dots. The tool pauses in Play mode. Objects hidden in the Scene view get no dots or colors. Weight colors pause above 300,000 vertices in total (select outfit or hair meshes one at a time).

Requirements

Unity 2022.3 (tested on 2022.3.22f1). VRChat SDK to show PhysBone dots.

How to install

  1. Download the .unitypackage (Free trial or Full) and drag it into the Project window, then click Import.
  2. Open Tools > Bone Picker and select an avatar or a mesh in the Hierarchy. The window has an "English" checkbox at the top.
